The Day The Lord Wept


You know our Lord .
I’m sure each and everyone of you do.
But do you know God also can weep as well.
His tears fall for lost lambs who have lost their way. For man, woman ,child and every creature.
Everyone.
We were made in his image.
Yes, God does cry when the clouds gather and the rain pours.
My momma used to tell us God was upset and crying and as the rain fell I knew I felt all I could in my heart for my Lord.
That is why I wrote this story song about him who deserves all our praise .


Laying in my mother’s arms,
I saw the rain fall.



I closed my eyes to only hear God as he wept.
I’ll never forget the day God wept.



The clouds gathered as I sat on my mother’s lap listening to her bible
She read us each and every day.
She had just finished telling about Daniel in the Lions Den
When she heard the raindrops start to fall.


She closed her eyes and I knew she was praying and then she opened her eyes and a tear slid down her soft cheek. I cradled closer and asked momma why she cried?


She told me that when it rained it was God our Lord weeping.
His tears we see sent to cleanse the earth and all of our souls.
I asked momma why she always said a prayer and seemed to cry with him and she said.


I pray for him as I know he prays for us.
When the rain falls ,
I know he is weeping and I want him to know how much we love him and know
How thankful for his love and protection .


And with that momma went on to tell us about the Lord and the joy he brings to each and every one of us .
And as the Lord wept that day ,I knew I would always remember the Day The Lord Wept.


As I grew older and my children sat in my lap I repeated the same story to them and their children and grandchildren.


Like momma I said a prayer every time it rained.
And lord I still do for you today and I know you are here with all of us.


And Lord…
I do Love you and still pray for you.
