Rapid growth cannot address the problems arising out of the continued disparities of Pehtrol’s immediate Jamaican surroundings. The song speaks of the crime and violence that exists within various communities (at home and abroad), especially the children and women who are victims to predators of our society. Music is subjective and by definition, the “Save Our Children” song is influenced by Pehtrol’s personable feelings and opinions. One of the most-gruesome shattering storytelling experience is depicted in Pehtrol’s excellent songwriting. Here, he pays homage to the lost souls; a young mother and four children who were murdered by a male relative.
