'No Turning Back' was one of the first songs I wrote and performed with The Immaculate Crows in 1982. It started off with a Psychedelic feel and but morphed into an almost Progressive Rock song where we would stretch out and Mark Hocknell and myself would play guitar solos. Carolyn and I started laying down tracks for this first recording on 6 February 2022 and I did my final guitar tracks on 31 January 2023. This version brings the song into the modern age while retaining some retro aspects. The song seems more relevant now with the possibility of WW3 and Nuclear War plus environmental degradation reaching alarming proportions! This was Jessica Shipley's first recording as a lead vocalist and she is backed in the choruses by Nicky Steel. This is also the first time new guitarist Wayne Harvey appears on a release. I play most of the guitar but Wayne added density to the choruses and played some supporting chords in the intro plus playing the last chord that ends the song. Lol! This song is pretty intense and dark. I am back playing some of the best guitar I have played in years and overall very happy with this release. Hope you like it too.
