“Blind Eyes” and “Find that Man” were performed by the New York jazz singer Joanna Teters, aka Velvet Belle, with her unique vocal timbre that recalls some great voices of the past such as those of Billie Holiday and Dinah Washington.

Aria played the two songs with Miriam Makeba’s backing band and vocalists, important musicians who, following the death of Mama Africa, have collaborated with major artists in both Africa and the USA. This group exemplifies the best sounds of jazz, African music, contaminated with soul, and funk in the style of Chic, complete with maestro Bernard Edwards’s slap and pop technique on the bass.

Mariano's piano dialogues with that of Paul Hanmer's, under the stylistic influence of Keith Jarrett. Both songs contain classical influences, including orchestral instruments such as the bass clarinet, medieval instruments, such as the piva and zampogna, which can be heard in the finale of “Blind Eyes”, along with with Ayo Solanke’s (noted gospel and jazz soloist) beautiful tenor saxophone.

In “Find that Man”, one can enjoy Portuguese Fado harmonies. All in all, Aria represents a new experimental jazz, close to progressive rock, and it remains to be discovered.

It’s a quarter to 12 and
Not even a cat at home
I’m hitting the town again
But I’m not complaining
I’m such a glass half-full girl
Just waiting to find my man

Mm
Mm
Find my man
Find my man

I love all the bright lights
Love all the lost and found
Looking for easy love
On warm city nights it’s
So easy to think that love
Is someone who holds your hand

Mm
Mm
Who holds your hand

So what do I call them
These come and these go men
And they’re always gone tomorrow
We have a good time but
It’s not what they call true love
Just players in one tough game

Whoa Yeah
One tough game
Oh

It’s a quarter to 12 I’m
Hitting the town again
And I’m gonna keep on going
It’s not an illusion
Like money or fancy cars
I’m going to find my man
